🚨 SAVE THE YOUTH MICHIANA:
The Time Is Always Now! 🚨
Every day, young people across the Michiana region face challenges that no child should have to navigate alone — violence, poverty, educational inequities, mental health struggles, community disinvestment, and a lack of access to opportunities that help them thrive.
At JAX Aspire Foundation, we believe our children deserve more than conversations. They deserve action.
The Save the Youth: Michiana Campaign is a call to parents, educators, faith leaders, businesses, community organizations, elected officials, and residents to come together and create real solutions for our youth. The future of our communities depends on the decisions we make today.
✋🏾 The handprint symbolizes a collective responsibility:
* To protect our youth.
* To listen to their voices.
* To create safe spaces where they can learn, grow, and heal.
* To address the root causes of violence, disengagement, and inequity.
* To invest in opportunities, not just interventions.
The question is not whether our youth need us.
The question is: Will we answer the call?

Yes, summer is here… but that doesn’t mean the work ends.
The school year may be over, yet the responsibility to monitor, advocate, and prepare for what comes next continues. Summer is the season for reflection, planning, and ensuring that systems are ready to better serve every child when they return.
Here’s to staying engaged, remaining vigilant, and continuing the work in hopes that meaningful systemic change becomes reality—not just rhetoric.

Online Petition Circulating Calls For Removal of Benton Harbor Superintendent
By Jolie L.
An online petition calling for the removal of Benton Harbor Area Schools Superintendent Dr. Simone Griffin is gaining attention across the community.
The petition, published on Change.org by the S.H.A.R.P. Foundation and started by community member Ms. Gwen Johnson, had reached 239 signatures as of Tuesday evening.
The petition alleges concerns regarding leadership, communication, and administrative decisions within Benton Harbor Area Schools. Organizers claim staff, parents, and students have experienced negative impacts connected to the district’s current administration and are calling on the Benton Harbor Area Schools Board of Education to take action.
In the petition, organizers state that “the education and well-being of students, the support for parents, and the fair treatment of school staff are fundamental values that MUST be upheld at all times.” The petition further alleges there have been incidents involving “stress, inadequate support, gross misconduct and dishonest communication” under the current administration.
The petition specifically calls on Benton Harbor Area Schools Board President Dashuna Robinson and Vice President Trenton Bowens to consider the “immediate removal” of Superintendent Griffin.
Petition organizers also referenced concerns about staff morale and confidence in district leadership, though no supporting survey data or reports were directly attached within the petition at the time of publication.
The online petition argues that the district has faced longstanding challenges and claims the current administration has worsened existing issues affecting educators, students, and families.
The petition remains active online through Change.org at https://www.change.org/p/hold-school-superintendents-accountable-for-misconduct-harm-in-our-district?recruiter=1372644260&recruited_by_id=fba65fb0-2671-11f0-a3ff-ef3fa422fc8b&utm_source=share_petition&utm_campaign=psf_promote_or_share&utm_medium=copylink&share_id=TJRVCg4d6s
