On Friday, Columbia College celebrated the Class of 2026. The commencement ceremony marks a milestone made by years of hard work, determination, and perseverance. Each graduate's path to the stage was unique but all were celebrated by family, friends, and the campus community. Congratulations to all CC graduates as they take the next step forward!

Graduates & Guests Please plan ahead for Commencement parking restrictions.

Commencement Parking Guidelines have changed for 2026. Each graduate will receive two parking passes for student lots. All graduates and guests must arrive in no more than two vehicles to help reduce congestion and support safe campus access.

Second Annual Lavender Pre-Graduation Celebration!

Columbia College Student Success Council and the GSA (Gender and Sexuality Alliance) club proudly invite all to celebrate the accomplishments of the Columbia College 2026 graduating LGBTQ+ community and allies, in a pre-graduation celebration on Tuesday April 28th from 6-8:30 PM on the Tamarack Patio.

Several Keynote speakers are planned; music, crafts, and food will be shared with our entire college community to support our students in the next steps of their educational journeys. Dance party to follow ceremony.

Graduating LGBTQ+ students will be recognized and provided a Rainbow Cord which can be worn with all academic regalia during the full commencement ceremony on Friday, May 1st.

Speakers will include:
Jacob Fraker- Executive Director of the CA LGBTQ Foundation (originally from Sonora)
Morgan Rain- Executive Director of CalPride Sierras (and CC graduating class of 2025!)
Student Speaker TBD
Open Mic opportunity

It's that time again!

The third annual Talent Show at Columbia College is April 17th at 6pm in Dogwood! Thanks to funding from the Arts Grant, we will be providing refreshments for all after the show as well as pizza for the performers. The poster was created by one of our own Columbia College students! There are extra copies in my mailbox if you want one!

The past two Talent Shows were a great success! This is a place where staff and students can spend an evening together sharing laughter and perhaps tears depending on the performance. All acts are welcome from silly to serious.

Do you have a hidden talent or poem or song you are willing to share? Please scan the QR code on the attached poster if you would like to sign up!

We are also doing a group dance to "Push It" by Salt-n-Pepa if you would like to join! No dance experience required, just your willingness to have fun! We will be rehearsing for this Thursday 4/9 and 4/16 from 1-2 in Dogwood and one final run through on the day of April 17th from 4 to 5 in Dogwood. Our annual Community Job Fair at Columbia College was a huge success! Thank you to the 55 employers who participated, connecting students to local jobs. It was a busy and engaging afternoon of career exploration and networking! This event is one of the many ways Columbia College connects students and job seekers with employers who are actively hiring in our region. We partner with local businesses and organizations to help students explore careers, build connections, and find opportunities in their communities.
