A good wintertime tea has a few elements (in my opinion): it’s aromatic, cheerful, reminds you of summer days, and provides easily assimilated nutrients or medicinal compounds. And, of course, it’s hot! Here’s one I recently brewed up, a blend of oat straw, wood betony flowers (from last summer’s garden!), a pinch of motherwort and a pinch of lavender. I like this blend. 🍵✨ I also want to share that my spring herbal apprenticeship at is almost full! We opened up a second session due to demand, so we now have another group happening on the same weekends. There are two spots left in the Saturday group! If you are interested in home herbalism, permaculture gardening, and yoga + movement this might be for you! Check out all the details on ifarm’s website: www.ifarmboxford.com. We begin in April 🌿🌿🌿

I’m so thrilled to share that I’ll be offering a new 7 month-long herbal course, called "Connecting With The Living Land" in partnership with ifarm in Boxford, MA. This program will focus on deepening our direct connection to plants and to the living landscapes that surround us always. We will journey through the seasons as we learn about herbal medicines, holistic gardening, harvesting & processing herbs and much, much more. We’ll have time for reflection in nature combined with intuitive practices that will connect you more deeply with the plants, and there will also be days where we’ll have classes on yoga and movement.

All of this takes place on the very beautiful 19 acre property of ifarm in Boxford, about a 40 minute drive from the Boston area. I’m honored to co-create this offering with the folks of ifarm and excited for more people to see the inspiring permaculture gardens they’ve created, brimming with herbs. To learn more about the program details, dates and cost, please visit the link below. We have room for 12 people and it’s already started to fill up. Hope some of you can join us in this beautiful, hands-on program ✨

I have some pretty big news to share... As many of you know I am the founder of and have been deeply involved with its creation and growth for the past 8 years. It’s my baby. (One of them!) I’ve finally come to the point where the growth of the organization and the scope of the work is too much for me to take on alone. (Well, I am never alone in the Herbstalk community as there are soooo many amazing people who come to support and participate - it’s just that I do 90% of the behind-the-scenes organizing and administrative tasks). I need some help to assure that Herbstalk can continue to flourish and have an impact. ✨ That said, I am currently seeking a “Market Manager and Community Engagement Assistant” to oversee our market event logistics and provide administrative support. The person must be super organized and detail-oriented, live in the Boston area, and have a passion for our mission. I would prefer that it be someone I don’t already have a personal relationship with. Please see www.herbstalk.org for the full job description and how to apply. Thank you for spreading the word! It is an exciting time 🌿✨P.S. This is a pic of Witch Hazel, who is flowering now. This cold-weather bloomer reminds us to fully own our unique selves, trust that things will unfold in perfect timing, and to share our unique gifts in community. 💚
