Our students had an amazing time participating in the Salmon Celebration hosted by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game alongside students from other schools across the peninsula!

Throughout the day, students explored the importance of salmon, stewardship, and caring for Alaska’s natural resources through exciting hands-on activities and interactive learning experiences. They learned about water quality, fish identification, proper catch-and-release techniques, spin and fly casting, water and boating safety, fishing regulations, watershed models, and the cultural importance of salmon in Alaska. Students also explored animal skulls and skins while learning more about local wildlife and ecosystems.

It was a day filled with curiosity, teamwork, outdoor learning, and unforgettable experiences as students connected with nature and gained a deeper appreciation for Alaska’s incredible resources. Thank you to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game for hosting such a meaningful event for our students and community!

Yesterday, Mrs. Biswas' fifth grade class transformed into a full-on construction zone as students took on an exciting construction-themed review day!

These hardworking Caribou rolled up their sleeves and got busy constructing strong sentences, tearing apart parts of speech, designing detailed blueprints, and solving tough math challenges like true learning engineers.

The classroom was filled with excitement, creativity, teamwork, and nonstop learning as students built on the skills, they’ve worked so hard to develop all year long. It was amazing to watch their confidence shine while they tackled each challenge with determination and enthusiasm. Way to build big, fifth grade!

We were so excited that we once again joined our community and other schools in helping with Kenai River Spring Clean Up. Some of our 2nd and 4th grade students, staff, and volunteers showed up ready to work hard, make a difference, and have fun while caring for the place we call home.

From picking up trash to working alongside incredible community volunteers, this year’s cleanup was full of teamwork, energy, and community pride. We are so proud of our students for stepping up and showing what it means to be good stewards of our environment!

We already can't wait for next year!

Tuesday was an incredible day at the KPBSD Math Meet!

8 students (grades 3–6) from our school traveled to the Soldotna Sports Complex on Tuesday to compete alongside 120 KPBSD students in grades 3–8. Students tackled challenging math problems, strategic chess matches, and fast-paced individual competitions before finishing the day with an exciting team problem-solving round!

Our students showed amazing perseverance, teamwork, and critical thinking throughout the event — and we are thrilled to celebrate that 5 of our students placed in different categories!

We could not be prouder of the way these students represented our school with determination, sportsmanship, and enthusiasm for learning. A huge thank you to the KPBSD Quest Department for putting together such a fun and inspiring opportunity for students across the district!
