Our friend and former classmate, Cathy Zoutendyk Symons, passed away on November 9 2013 due to complications from breast cancer. Her "Celebration of Life" was exactly that, a celebration. Her graduation day to eternal life. However left behind is a strong, devoted husband and 2 beautiful, young little girls ages 9 and 6. Since her passing many of you have been sharing stories, photos, letters of how Cathy has touched your life in some way and we would like to take those stories and create a memory book for her girls Kaitelyn and Jocelyn. If you would like to share your story about Cathy please email it to Terri (Frye) Humphreys at [email protected]. Thank you.

Cathy's "Celebration of Life" service will be held this Saturday (11/16/13) @ 3pm at the Rock Church in Liberty Station, Point Loma (2277 Rosecrans St., San Diego, CA 92106) in room #232. There will be refreshments available after the service but feel free to bring an appetizer or desert would be appreciated. Instead of flower donations, there will be a a college fund available in case you would like to contribute or please donate to the Breast Cancer Awareness fund of your choice. As a class and friends of Cathy's, we plan on setting something up a few months from now to help out Andy, Kaitelyn and Jocelyn. Those details will follow...

Please give a thumbs up to this FB post if only you plan on attending and a comment if you and others plan on attending. Cathy's family live in France and many of our friends live far away so we will also plan on video taping this event for you to have a copy of later if you are not able to attend.

It's with a heavy heart that I'm writing to let you all know that we lost one of our own today. Our friend and former classmate Cathy Nicole Zoutendyk Symons has lost her battle to breast cancer but God has indeed gained an angel. Her infectious smile and laugh will be missed. I will post details of her "celebration of life" when I know more. Sending love and prayers to Cathy's unwavering husband, Andy and their two wonderful daughters. Terri
