𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱.

Marriage is one of the greatest blessings in my life.
But there are a few things I learned only after walking through the highs, lows, victories, and challenges.

Here are 5 things I wish someone had told me sooner:

1. 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵.
Love is important, but successful marriages require communication, patience, sacrifice, and commitment. Feelings may come and go, but commitment is what carries you through difficult seasons.
2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻—𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮.
Everyone has flaws, habits, strengths, and weaknesses. The sooner you stop expecting perfection, the sooner you can appreciate the person standing beside you.
3. 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲.
Money isn't everything, but financial stress can create pressure in any household. Having honest conversations about money, goals, and priorities matters more than most people realize.
4. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.
Health challenges, setbacks, disappointments, and unexpected obstacles are part of life. The goal isn't finding someone who makes life easy—it's finding someone you're willing to fight through life with.
5. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁.
It's not you versus your spouse. It's both of you versus the problem. The strongest couples learn how to win together instead of trying to be right all the time.
After all these years, one lesson stands above the rest:

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻.

It’s about building something meaningful with the person you choose every day.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲.

Not because you're being secretive.
Because not everyone is assigned to understand your vision.

1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲.
The fastest way to lose momentum is to announce every plan before you've executed it. Sometimes sharing too early brings opinions, doubts, and distractions that can slow your progress.
2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲.
Very few good things come from people knowing exactly how much money you make. It can create jealousy, unrealistic expectations, unnecessary comparisons, or people treating you differently.
3. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹.
Big dreams often sound unrealistic to people who have never attempted them. Protect your vision until it becomes reality. Not every goal needs public approval to succeed.
4. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀.
Be honest with trusted mentors and people who genuinely want to help you grow. But be careful sharing your vulnerabilities with people who may eventually use them against you.
5. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻.
A vision needs flexibility. When you tell everyone every detail, you can end up spending more time explaining your plan than actually building it. Focus on ex*****on.
The truth is, some people will support you.

Some people will doubt you.
And some people will project their own limitations onto you.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.
𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲.
𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Because not every seed needs an audience while it's growing.

𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀.

Sometimes you’re doing better financially…
you just haven’t stopped long enough to realize it.
Here are 10 signs you’re making financial progress 👇👇

1. You check your bank account less out of fear.
2. You can handle small emergencies without panicking.
3. You’ve become more intentional with spending.
4.You stopped trying to impress people financially.
5. You’re saving money consistently — even if it’s small.

A lot of people are farther ahead than they think.
