Geoffrey Craig “Jeff” Hurst, age 62 of Kodak, TN (formerly of Smyrna, GA) passed away Friday February 6, 2026.

"He took great pride in his wife, children, and grandchildren, who were the center of his world. Nothing brought him more joy than watching his family grow and thrive. It was important to him to lead his children and grandchildren to Christ, and he delighted in witnessing their growth in their faith.

Jeff was an active member of Connect Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking and riding through the mountains with his wife on their Harley. He cherished time spent boating on the lake with his family.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Richard Hurst, Jr., Frances Pickle Harper, and grandparents Wesley Alfred Pickle, Rachel Evelyn Pickens Pickle, Isaac Richard Hurst and Glennie Emaline Hurst.

Jeff is survived by his wife Dawn Cowman Hurst; children Suzan Feder (Adam), Stephanie Weckesser (Adam), Matthew Hurst (Shannon), Julian Harris and grandchildren Abbi Weckesser, Jaxson Hurst, Eli Weckesser, Nehemiah Hurst, Blaklyn Feder. He is also survived by his father Terry Harper; brothers Wesley Hurst (Sandy), Ashley Hurst; sister Melanie Hurst Emory and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

"Lisa Marie Pritchard, age 62 of Marietta, Georgia, entered into rest with her Heavenly Father on Friday, July 25, 2025 following a long-term illness. Lisa was born March 6, 1963 in Maryville, Tennessee and graduated from Wills High School in Smyrna. She especially enjoyed playing on the high school basketball team and had a special love for animals. Lisa was preceded in death by her parents Buddy Lee and Betty Ann Pritchard. She is survived by her daughter, Susanne Willis (Stephen) Ventre; sister Linda Pritchard; brothers Edward “Eddie” Alton Pritchard (Debbie Sue) and Steven Lee Pritchard (Deanna Webster-Pritchard); and cousin Debra (Wally) Szuba. The family wishes to express a special thank-you to Lorna and Sammy at St Francis Assisted Living in Macon, Georgia for their special care of Lisa in her final days, as well as Family Hospice of Macon. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Thomas Wade Smithwick

"Thomas Wade Smithwick, born on October 2, 1963, in Marietta, Georgia, passed away on October 14,2024, in Smyrna, Georgia. He is remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

For many years, Thomas dedicated his career to East Side Elementary School, where he became a cherished figure among colleagues and students alike. Known for his warm smile and infectious laughter, he brought joy to those around him and left an impact on everyone he encountered. His positive spirit and unwavering kindness made him a beloved member of the school community.

Family was of utmost importance to Thomas, and he especially treasured the time spent with his grandchildren. When he first became a grandfather, a new depth of love unfolded within him, transforming him into the devoted “Boomba” and “Pop Pop” that his grandchildren adored. He cherished every moment spent with Ezra Martin, Eris Johnson, Barrett Smithwick, and Wesson Smithwick, and his love for them was evident in all that he did. Thomas had a particular fondness for the holidays, especially Christmas, dedicating himself to creating magical experiences through elaborate decorations and festivities.

In addition to his warm and loving demeanor, Thomas served his country honorably in the Navy for four years, participating in various battles during his time overseas. His strength and dedication were notable qualities that endeared him to many.

Thomas is survived by his son, Nicholas Smithwick; daughter, Jessica Smithwick; ex-wife and close friend, Darlene Smithwick; sister, Audrey Smithwick; daughter-in-law, Katie Frederick Smithwick; and his four cherished grandchildren. He joins his deceased family members, including his sister Deborah Autry, mother Ventalee Smithwick, and father Ralph Smithwick, in eternal rest.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Thomas’s life during the visitation on October 20, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 2480 Macland Road, Marietta, GA 30064.

Thomas Wade Smithwick will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the profound love he shared and the light he brought into the lives of those around him.

Richard Bennett

There are not many details that I have been able to find. All I really know is that Richard passed sometime between 2015 and 2021. That I was able to confirm. Even without all the details, I felt he still belongs here with his classmates to be remembered.

"Bobby Gerald Simpson, Jr of Conyers Ga, born in Atlanta Ga on October 29, 1962 passed away on April 19, 2024 at the age of 61 surrounded by his family. He is survived by his only daughter Tiffany Oskirka and her husband Joshua, sister Donna Hunter, nephew Brandon Hunter and his beloved dog Max. He battled quite a few years with various health issues and is no longer in pain and forever comfortable. His love for UGA football will most likely still have him yelling GO DAWGS every Saturday in the Fall. Bobby will be cremated and his memorial services will be announced at a later date."

Mr. Michael Henderson Gray, Jr., age 60, of Dallas, GA, died Friday, March 1, 2024, in the hospital of cardiac arrest.

He was born June 25, 1963, in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Michael Henderson Gray, Sr. and Sandra Lyle Gray. He received his Bachelor's of Electronic and Computer Engineering Technology at Southern Polytechnic State University.

He was a Network Operations Center Support Engineer. He enjoyed gaming and having friends over for fireworks and cookouts.

Survivors include his mother, Sandra Lyle Gray, of Eatonton, GA; his sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Helmut Forren of Ball Ground, GA; his uncle Wendell Lyle (wife Denise) of Eatonton, GA; and his uncle Barry Lyle (wife Mary) of Kingsland, GA.

A celebration of life for Michael Henderson Gray, Jr. will be held Sunday, March 24, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Hard Labor Creek State Park Group Shelter 2 in Rutledge, GA. It is requested by the family for all attending the service to wear casual attire.

"Ms. Cathey Marie Harris, age 60, of Smyrna, GA, passed away with her family at her side January 13, 2024. She was born April 22, 1963 in Columbus, GA to the Wayne Harris and Tina Burt Harris. She was preceded in death by her mother, Tina.

Cathey worked as an accountant for many years. She enjoyed going to music festival and concerts, researching their family genealogy, and watching movies. She was a loving daughter and devoted aunt, loving her nieces and nephew dearly.

She is survived by her father, Wayne Harris, of Smyrna, GA; sister and brother in law, Debbie and David Papageorge, of Acworth, GA; nieces, Morgan Papageorge (Wes Salter) and Mary Papageorge; and nephew, Thomas Papageorge.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 1:00PM in the Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Rev. Grover Robinson officiating. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Papageorge, Nico Llamazales, Mark Berry, Jerry Fuller, Landon Thompson, and Jimmy Brown. Interment will follow in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery near Bowdon, GA with Rev. Gary Robinson officiating.

A celebration of his life will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 12:00 PM with Pastor Josh Ray officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home an hour prior.

Mikey was born in Marietta, GA to the late Henry and Rachel McDaniel.
Mikey proudly served in the United State Air Force then continued to serve his country at Robins Air Force Base for over 25 years. Mikey was a car enthusiast, animal lover and enjoyed sharing the delicious results of his big green egg with family and friends. Mikey was a loving husband, brother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mikey is survived by his wife Judy McDaniel; siblings, Roger (Rhonda) McDaniel, Allen McDaniel, Cecil (Ann) Brand, and Cheryl (Eddie) Santiago, a host of nieces, nephews, extend friends and family.
