📚 Back to School — Week TWO! 🍎✏️

Now that we’re settling into our second week back at school, our PTO is already looking ahead and brainstorming ways we can make this a great year for our students, teachers, and school! 💙

And we want to hear from YOU!

We’re looking for fresh and fun fundraising ideas, and who better to ask than our families and community? What fundraisers would you actually enjoy participating in? Have you seen another school or organization do something that was a big hit? Is there something you’d love to see us try this year?

🚨🚨UPDATE ON OPEN HOUSE 🚨🚨
Enter through the gate near where buses park and walk through the courtyard doirs to the Cafeteria

Good evening SES/DEMS parents! Tomorrow is open house! I’m calling to let you know that the middle school building, office area, media center, and gym is currently without AC. Crews are working diligently to ensure repairs are made to get the system working prior to the first day of school. I wanted to let you know so that if you are coming tomorrow you can dress appropriately for our 85 degree building! With this, we are adjusting how you enter the open house. All families will enter through the gate near where the buses park and walk through the courtyard doors to the cafeteria. We are moving all of our tables from the original location of the gym to the cafeteria so you can enjoy more air conditioned areas. The athletics meeting will move to the gym and be short, starting at 5:30pm.

OPEN HOUSE

Good evening SES and DEMS families! This is Mrs. Lewis with our first regularly scheduled call of the year.

School supply lists are pinned to the top of our pages. They are also linked in the live feeds of our school websites.

Girls soccer tryouts are Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18 at DEMS from 3pm to 5pm. Students must have a current physical packet on file in order to try out!

Open House is Wednesday, August 19 from 4pm to 6pm. This is a floating event. DEMS students will get their schedules at Open House. Everyone will enter through the gym where we will have booths with information about everything from buses to community organizations. I am so very excited to see all our returning students and meet our new students at this event! PreK and Kindergarten students will receive information about their staggered start schedule at Open House! Coach Garza will have an athletics meeting for middle school parents at 5:30pm in the cafeteria.

Many of our back to school forms must be completed through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Directions for creating an account are found shared on our page. If you have previously logged into the portal you can use the forgot password and/or forgot username functions to log in again. Assistance will be available at open house if needed!

The first day of school is Monday, August 24th. Our doors open at 7:20am daily with the tardy bell at 7:40am and dismissal begins at 2:50pm. Drop off and pick up is through the highway 70 entrance. After the first week, please utilize the carline for drop off and pick up. This helps ensure all of our students are safe and keeps us off of our neighbor’s property.
