The Psi Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Dynamic group of women representing Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. providing community service to Johnston County and surrounding areas.

In March 2009, a group of Alpha Kappa Alpha members came together with the vision of chartering a new chapter to serve an area not currently benefiting from the mission of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Sanctioned in November of 2011 as an official Interest Group, members began to provide education, outreach and service to the communities in and around Garner, Clayton and Smithfield, of Johnston County, North Carolina. On Saturday, June 8, 2013, the vision of one and the efforts of many came to fruition. POSIG became the newest chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. On this day, we became Psi Sigma Omega. We pledge to continue to actively provide and participate in service programs/initiatives that will improve the socio-economic conditions; promote and support education and outreach; and strengthen the communities in and around Garner, Clayton and Smithfield, NC.

Psi Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® invites our community to help stock JCC’s Elevation Market and make sure students have access to the essentials they need to stay fed, focused, and thriving.

When the sisterhood is this beautiful and the memories are this good, ten photos just won’t do! So, of course, we had to come back with PART TWO! 💕💚

More hats. More heels. More handkerchiefs. More smiles. More pearls. And most importantly, MORE SISTERHOOD!

“It’s Tea Time: Hats, Heels & Handkerchiefs – A Sisterhood Reclamation Affair” gave us so many beautiful moments to capture, from welcoming visiting sorors to celebrating those who reclaimed their place in our sisterhood and became part of the Psi Sigma Omega family.

Every pearl matters, and this day was a beautiful reminder that our strand is stronger and more beautiful when we are connected. 💕💚

It’s Tea Time: Reclaiming Every Pearl 💕💚

What a phenomenal afternoon of sisterhood, reflection, connection, and reclamation!

Today, the Psi Sigma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® hosted “It’s Tea Time: Hats, Heels & Handkerchiefs – A Sisterhood Reclamation Affair.” And what an affair it was!

We were delighted to welcome numerous visiting sorors into our sisterly circle, but one of the greatest highlights of the day was seeing several sorors reclaim their place in our sisterhood and become members of Psi Sigma Omega Chapter TODAY! 💕💚

Our time together gave us an opportunity to reflect on why we chose Alpha Kappa Alpha, why our membership continues to matter, and why reclamation is so important.

We were reminded that every pearl matters.

A strand of pearls is made beautiful and complete by the individual pearls that form it. Each pearl has its own place, its own story, and its own value. When one is missing, the strand simply isn't the same. And so it is with our sisterhood. We want to reclaim every pearl and welcome her back to the strand.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the wonderful partners who helped make today's experience so special: Tea Connoisseur Matthias Payton of Jasper and Gold, Violinist Kimberly Michelle Prince, Caterer Kenneka Robeson, and Photographer James Ward. Your talents and contributions helped create an atmosphere worthy of this beautiful occasion.

Thank you to our Membership Committee, our chapter sorors, our visiting sorors, and everyone who played a role in making today such a tremendous success.

Today was more than tea. It was sisterhood. It was connection. It was reflection. It was reclamation.

And most importantly, our strand grew stronger today because some of our pearls came home. 💕💚

Psi Sigma Omega stepped into the arena for our 2026 Virtual Retreat ready to prepare for our next round as Genuine Champions of Sisterly Service!

We left inspired to listen to our community, show up boldly, collaborate intentionally, and serve with excellence. We also recommitted to being Genuine Sorors, loving, authentic, respectful, supportive, and full of grace.

And every champion needs a strong corner. In PSO, we are one another’s corner. Every Soror has a voice. Every Soror has a gift. Every Soror has a place in the work.
