Dear Smackover-Norphlet School District Families, Staff, Students, and Community,

What a GREAT first day of school!

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the excitement, energy, and pride that filled our schools today.

Seeing our students walk through the doors, reconnect with friends and teachers, and begin another year of learning was a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do.

While the first day is always special, the success of today did not happen by accident. It is the result of an entire community coming together and an incredible staff working tirelessly throughout the summer to prepare for our students.

To our Smackover-Norphlet community, thank you for your outstanding support throughout the summer. From supporting our schools and activities to volunteering, encouraging our students and staff, and helping us prepare for another school year, your commitment to our district does not go unnoticed. We are incredibly fortunate to have a community that believes in our schools and understands that our students are our greatest investment.

To our entire faculty and staff, THANK YOU! The countless hours spent preparing classrooms, planning lessons, attending professional development, organizing facilities, addressing student needs, preparing technology, and making sure every detail was ready for today are a true reflection of your dedication. You have worked extremely hard, and your commitment to our students is evident in everything you do.

As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I am filled with optimism and excitement about what we can accomplish together.

We have high expectations for our students, and we will continue to challenge them, support them, celebrate their successes, and provide opportunities for them to grow both academically and personally.

Our strength comes from working together—school, family, and community as one team. When we all pull in the same direction, there is no limit to what our students can achieve.

Thank you for making the first day such a great beginning to what I believe will be an outstanding school year. Thank you for your patience and ability to work around our construction projects taking place on our campuses. Your support makes improving our facilities possible.

Let’s continue to support one another, celebrate our students, and make the 2026–2027 school year one to remember.
