Friday Night Football is back — and Maryann will be there!

The Montgomery Cougars kick off the 2026 season tonight against Hopewell, and Maryann Post will be on the sidelines covering all the action for Headline News Montgomery.

The lights are on, the band is ready, the stands will be rocking — and a brand-new season begins tonight. Stay with HNM for sights, sounds and coverage from the Cougars’ season opener.

Due to the forecasted inclement weather, tonight's (Thursday, August 27th, 2026) 4th Annual Kick-Off to Fall Sports event at Cougar Stadium is cancelled.

Stay safe everyone!

Our Fourth Annual Kick-Off to Fall Sports event will be held at Cougar Stadium on Thursday, August 27th, at 6:00 pm. This night is a time to celebrate our students, athletic teams, cheerleaders, dance team, and MHS Marching Band with our community and each other.

Join us for food trucks (Beniamino’s, Zinnia’s/Jersey Eats, and Kona Water Ice), performances by our cheerleaders, dance team, and marching band, and an evening of fun and friendly competition as we kick off another exciting year!
