✈️ Celebrating National Aviation Day — and the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals

On August 19, we celebrate National Aviation Day, established in 1939 on the birthday of aviation pioneer Orville Wright. It’s a day to recognize how far aviation has come—and to look ahead to where it’s going next.

At Morningside University, we’re proud to be part of that future.

Our growing Aviation program gives students the opportunity to turn a passion for flight into a profession through Professional Flight and Aviation Management, hands-on learning, industry partnerships, and connections to aviation professionals. From the classroom to the cockpit, our students are building the knowledge, skills, experience, and professionalism needed for careers in a rapidly evolving industry.

And we're doing it right here in Sioux City, with flight training at Sioux Gateway Airport (KSUX) and opportunities to learn from and connect with professionals across the aviation industry.

The Wright brothers helped prove what was possible.

Today, our students are preparing for what comes next.
