We had a wonderful closing ceremony today! Blush has successfully ended at three locations...Mauldin Middle, Mauldin High and Lead Academy. Thank you to Crystal Franklin at Lead, Angela Cox and Caroline Dennis Neely at Mauldin High and Jasmyn Jeffers at Mauldin Middle for your assistance. Eleven years ago, I never would've thought that BLUSH Female Mentoring would have grown this fast. The best is yet to come! Thank you to our high schoolers who came over and spent the day with us. Congrats to our senior Cortise Prince for her laundry basket as she will be planning to attend a four year college. Thank you Sophia Carabetta and Auora Hurtado for helping assist with the laundry baskets. Most importantly, thank you parents for entrusting your daughters in our care!

Over the past decade, we have relied on the community's generosity to pack laundry baskets for our senior girls who have graduated from BLUSH while in Middle School.

We would like to extend a special thank you to April West Day for her consistent support and donations. This year, we have two seniors, and we invite you to contribute to their laundry baskets.

For more information on how to give, please visit our website, Blushfemalementoring.org, or use our Amazon link in the comments. Thank you, April West Day, for your kindness. April West Day

πŸ’β€β™€οΈGirls and Hygiene was the topic for today's meeting. Healthy Eating and Skin Care, including routine skin care, were the topics discussed today

Shanice La'Shun has become a part of the BLUSH family, making her yearly discussions with the girls more valuable and interesting every time.

As a former student of Ms. Brown, Shanice also shared a little about her journey through college. As a healthcare advocate, she has her own healthcare company, Lifesaving Skills Training Center where she conducts CPR classes and sessions for youth and adults and mentors future nurses to achieve their goals. πŸ₯

We would like to thank Ms. Evans for coming and sharing with the Blush girls why healthy habits should be a daily lifestyle. And thank you so much for the pouches of "girl stuff" πŸ˜β€οΈπŸ’œ Shanice La'Shun

The good thing about BLUSH is we are in more than one location. BLUSH at LEAD is led by . Mrs. Franklin had a daughter to graduate from the BLUSH program and decided she wanted to do more to help.

We have great parents. Ms. Brown, our Director went over to LEAD and gave an etiquette lesson and these are them in action. Changing one your lady at a time by teaching skills for a lifetime!

πŸ“£πŸ“£Securing funding is often a challenge for organizations founded outside of school hours. Forming alliances with individuals and companies is vital. We're grateful for Sonya Geter invaluable contributions to BLUSH, working diligently behind the scenes.

Mrs. Geter's daughter participated in BLUSH during middle school and continues her association with the organization at our high school location. We appreciate Mrs. Geter's ongoing support for BLUSH and her partnership with TD SYNNEX, which yielded a $1000 grant. πŸ’Ά

If you're interested in donating to BLUSH like Mrs. Geter, please contact us. Your tax-deductible gift will enable us to positively impact young women through educational initiatives, career readiness programs, and financial literacy training. Sonya Thompson-Geter thank you!

The topic for Quarter 1 is Goals, Feelings, and Discovering YOU. During our second meeting, we concentrated on establishing goals and discussing feelings, as well as techniques for starting the day positively by commanding our day.

We have some work to do, but starting today was the first step to discover the gifts and talents that lie within us. 🫢❀️πŸ’ͺ
