✨ MOTHER SPOTLIGHT ✨

Our next Mother Spotlight is Sierra! 🤎

Sierra is a mama of five and has been part of A Sacred Education since the very beginning. This year, she is loving on our littlest members as one of our nursery mothers.

One of the things we admire most about Sierra is her incredibly patient and gentle spirit. Even when there is chaos happening all around her, she somehow seems to thrive. She holds her composure, remains patient, and handles the busyness around her with so much grace.

She is also the kind of person who sees where help is needed and jumps in. Whether it’s offering an extra set of hands, caring for little ones, or helping wherever there is a need, she is always willing to serve.

Her kindness, patience, and willingness to help are such a gift to our community. We have been so blessed to have Sierra walking alongside us and we’re incredibly thankful for all she brings to ASE. 🤎🌿

✨ MOTHER SPOTLIGHT: KAYLA ✨

We’re starting something new at A Sacred Education by taking a little time to celebrate the wonderful mothers who make our community so special. And since today happens to be Kayla’s birthday, we couldn’t think of a better mama to start with! 🥳🤎

Kayla has homeschooled from the very beginning and somehow manages a home, homeschooling, and a whole farm full of animals. So we think “Manager of Children & Animals” deserves an official place on her résumé. 😂🐓

More than anything, though, Kayla is so very kind. She has such a gentle, giving spirit, and we’ve truly enjoyed getting to know her heart more this past year. She is one of those people whose kindness is simply evident in the way she shows up and cares for those around her.

We’re so thankful she is part of our ASE community. 🤎

🎶 Why do our students study folk songs? 🎶

At first glance, singing an old folk song might seem like just a fun addition to our co-op day, but there is so much more tucked inside.

Folk songs are little pieces of history passed from one generation to the next. They tell us what people valued, how they worked, what they celebrated, what they feared, and how they made sense of the world around them.

When we study a folk song, we don’t just learn the words and melody. We discover where it came from, locate its story on a map, learn unfamiliar vocabulary, talk about the people and occupations behind it, and explore the history that gave the song life.

This term, our students are studying “Wellerman,” a New Zealand sea shanty connected to the whaling industry of the 1800s. What began as a catchy song has opened the door to conversations about geography, whaling stations, maritime vocabulary, trade, and life at sea.

One of the things we love about a Charlotte Mason education is that one beautiful thing has a way of leading us naturally into another. And somewhere along the way, an old song becomes more than an old song. It gives the children a connection to people, places, and stories that came before us.

This last Friday was our first day of A Sacred Education 2026–2027!

A new year with a few new additions! Cooking/Economics, Nature Study, Theater Arts, and our new Chess, Spanish, and Helping Hands (community service) clubs.

Helping Hands began learning how we can honor and serve the elderly, while Chess Club jumped into the basics of the game. ♟️

Lots of learning, laughs, and sweet memories already being made. We are so thankful for another year with this community and the families who make it possible! 🤍

I am, I can, I ought, I will.

On Friday at book club, we found ourselves talking about something simple… but powerful.. romanticizing our lives as homeschool mothers.

Not in a grand, unrealistic way… but in the small, ordinary moments that make up our days.

The same dishes.The same lessons.The same rhythms, week after week.

It can feel like monotony…or it can become something beautiful.

A slow morning with little ones gathered close.The sound of reading lessons at the table.Sunlight through the window while hands are busy with good work.

A wild flower growing in the back yard.

When we choose to see it that way, these ordinary days begin to feel full. Purposeful. Even lovely.

This life we’ve chosen isn’t meant to be rushed through.. it’s meant to be lived deeply.

So here’s a gentle encouragement as we head into a new week:play the music, step outside, light the candle linger a little longer.

There is so much joy to be found here… even in the monotony 🤍

He is risen ✝️

As we celebrate Resurrection Day, we are reminded that hope is alive, grace is abundant, and joy is found in the empty tomb.

At co op, we are so thankful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and walk alongside one another while keeping Christ at the center of all we do. Today we pause to remember the greatest gift ever given and the love that changed everything.

Wishing all of our families a beautiful day filled with peace, joy, and the promise of new life 🌿

This March, we will be hosting a 2026-2027 informational meeting at A Sacred Education for interested families. We are a homeschool community shaped by the Charlotte Mason philosophy and a deep respect for childhood.

If you are longing for a community that honors wonder, cultivates good habits, and leaves room for truth, beauty, and goodness, we invite you to come and listen. This gathering will share the heart behind A Sacred Education, what our days look like, and how this way of learning gently unfolds within family life.

Happy Birthday, Charlotte Mason 🎂 (January 1, 1842)

Today we remember and give thanks for Charlotte Mason, whose gentle yet profound philosophy continues to shape the way we educate our children.

She believed:
🖤Children are born persons
🖤Education is an atmosphere, a discipline, and a life
🖤Beauty, truth, and goodness matter deeply
🖤Learning belongs in the home, the heart, and the world around us

At A Sacred Education, we are grateful to walk in the paths she helped clear.. through living books, nature study, art and music, habit training, and a reverence for childhood as a sacred season.

May we continue to “spread the feast” and nurture whole persons for the glory of God.

Al fresco Christmas with our ASE family 🎄

A book exchange for the kids, Secret Santa for the moms, warm tea and coffee, and free-range children.

In true Charlotte Mason fashion, we made space for beauty, relationship, and the meaning of Christmas.
So grateful for this little community and our hearts are overflowing with gratitude for all that God has blessed us with through these women!
