The Siloam Springs Public School Foundation invests in creative ideas that help teachers engage students in new and meaningful ways! Today, we’re excited to spotlight Thomas Middle School and their recipient of this year’s teacher grants.
Nilda Stipkovich — “Spanish on Bikes”
Ms. Stipkovich’s “Spanish on Bikes” project will bring movement and technology into 8th grade Spanish instruction with mini under-desk bikes and headphones with microphones.
The mini bikes will give students an opportunity to use movement to improve focus, concentration, and self-regulation during class, while the headphones and microphones will support pronunciation practice, listening comprehension, and conversational Spanish activities. Together, these tools will create a more interactive and supportive environment where students can participate with greater confidence and less anxiety as they develop their Spanish language skills.
Best of all, these resources will directly impact every student enrolled in 8th grade Spanish each year, with the benefits continuing as the materials are reused by future students!
This is : Giving teachers innovative tools to help students find confidence, stay engaged, and discover new ways to learn.
Congratulations, Ms. Stipkovich, and thank you to the Siloam Springs Public School Foundation for your investment in our students!
