If you work in childcare or run a program… you already know.
Classrooms today hit different.

The noise.
The sensory overload.
The behaviors that spike out of nowhere.
The emotional intensity — from kids and adults.
The expectations that don’t match reality.

And yet so many trainings pretend none of that exists.

So I made one that doesn’t.

The Reality of Modern Classrooms is the training directors keep telling me their teams actually needed because it covers the real stuff: ✔️ what’s normal developmentally (and what’s not)
✔️ why kids escalate
✔️ how to stay regulated when the room isn’t
✔️ communication that reduces tension
✔️ practical, real‑life strategies that work

It’s honest.
It’s relatable.
It’s immediately usable.

✨ Virtual or in‑person options for summer staff training.

I almost said no to this.

The mud. The soaked clothes. The wet shoes that would end up by the door. The mess waiting for me inside afterward.

But then I remembered something every adult around children needs to hear:childhood was never meant to be clean.

This is where confidence grows. This is where imagination lives. This is where core memories are made.

I believe the magic is usually hiding inside the inconvenience.

The mess will wash off. The memory won’t 🌱🪨🐾

Children are absolutely incredible, bringing all their authenticity day in and day out.
We need to have the resources to ignite their sparks and turn them into fires that do miraculous things. It’s imperative that grown ups have the tools cultivate, love, and protect the magic of childhood.

It is my mission to ensure that grown ups have the tools to not only manage and teach young kids in the right way, but to also protect the magic of childhood.
I’ll never stop advocating for deeper understanding of child development and education.
The tiny humans we love deserve it 🥰

Are your lesson plans just busy work or are they an intentional, valuable tool?📚📌

Planning lessons and activities- whether you’re a childcare provider, teacher, coach, or even a parent- can often feel like “just another thing to do” in an already overwhelming world 🗓️

Take a step back and look at your overall intentions. 🤔
Focusing on age-appropriateness, using resources and being strategic with your timing can make your plans actually useful and turn a burdensome task into a non-negotiable, reliable tool! 🙌🏻

Let’s talk LEADERSHIP! 🙌🏻

1️⃣- The unrealistic leadership: We’ve all had the directors who see everything through rose colored lens’s. Some have never actually led a classroom, some have doctorates or fancy degrees and titles and think they know it all, and others just “drink the juice” wrongfully assuming that the ridiculous expectations are doable.

2️⃣-The “warm body” leadership: these are the directors who never leave the office, forget to place supply orders, ignore the toddler teacher who is screaming at the children, uphold policies and procedures on a case by case basis-IYKYK 🙄

But there is a #3️⃣!!! The unicorn 🦄 leaders who know, believe in, and understand all of the great science behind little brains and chaotic environments while also knowing how to coach and support teachers, coaches, and even parents with strategies that WORK (and maybe even add that joy back into working with littles!!)

How could you be more supported by your leadership team?

✨ Intentional planning = intentional learning.
When lessons have purpose, children thrive.
When educators plan with clarity, classrooms flourish.
When parents understand the “why,” home becomes an extension of learning.

Here are 3 quick tips to keep your planning purposeful and child‑centered:

1️⃣ Focus on the learning, not the product.
Think about the skill, the concept, or the takeaway — not just what children are making.

2️⃣ Check the prep-to-engagement ratio.
If an activity takes longer for you to prep than it does for children to complete or stay engaged, it’s not serving your goals.

3️⃣ Integrate your centers with intention.
Every center can (and should) support your unit. Add simple props, materials, or invitations that extend learning during free play.

When planning is intentional, everything becomes more meaningful — smoother days, deeper learning, and children who feel confident and capable.

If you’re ready to build more intentional classrooms with quick, easy, actionable steps, I can help.
Let’s make purposeful teaching feel simple, sustainable, and effective.
