Math fluency is an important skill for all students. The ability to recall basic math facts quickly and accurately is crucial for student success. Being fluent with basic math facts frees up working memory, allowing students to tackle complex, multistep problems rather than getting stuck on basic calculations.

This session is about multiplication using arrays and skip counting.

As a middle school teacher, I had to learn that littles need more to retain; however, I had to step back to allow them to discover.

By the end of the session, she was skip-counting, memorizing, and using counting bears to answer her facts.

The goal was for this student to process the facts and answer as many as she could using all the tools she had in her own math toolbox.

Today we learn with our hands. Math comes to life when we put it in our hands. Hands-on learning turns numbers into something a student can see, touch, and truly understand! 🍎

I am so excited to announce this partnership. We are looking forward to helping the scholars take the necessary steps toward their future plans.
