Heading back into a school year from a fabulous summer is made a lot easier when your people like to have fun. I made this silly banner from a Temu find and hung it up with the pencils in our lounge. It was endless amusement before we had to get serious. My girl Kelly Byrd offered up her photobooth which was a game changer. Ya’ll give her a call for not only ballons, but for her easy to use photo opportunity. I promise I’m returning to my flower business as soon as the school dust settles.

We have spent 40 of the last 72 days in a hotel room. Such an amazing summer! We are heading back to school tomorrow full of memories and ideas already forming for next summer.

These pics reflect the last leg of our Summer of Strother 13. We took a road trip to Chicago, spending time in St. Louis and Little Rock along the way. We took in concerts, Cardinal v Cubs games, a ride down the Mississippi, a visit to the Gateway Arch, many stops along Route 66, and finally the National Sports Collectors Convention. Life is short, take a trip!

Feeling compelled to share a God wink . I may cuss like a sailor, never attend church except holidays and have a drink on occasion, but I am deeply spiritual. I constantly look for God in both the quite and loud moments of my wild life. As I often do, I stood on the shore of this beautiful beach in Barbados on Monday and thanked God for his creation. I asked him to show me something special, something calming. As if what I was looking at wasn’t special enough. I turned to attempt to enter the cold water where Wade was standing. As I turned, I saw a little local girl playing in the water. She was probably around 8 years old. I said, “gosh I have trouble entering this cold water.” She looked at me and extended her hand and said, “If you hold my hand and we count to 3, I will help you.” I complied and she counted down. We both submerged our bodies into the sea and giggled. What an incredible metaphor she helped me to remember that if we extend a hand HE is there. Love to my people on this beautiful HOT first day back from our vacation.
