Beta Psi Chapter kicked off Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. Business Month by showing our green. Throughout the month of April, we will be "showing our green" by wearing green for 30 days. Week 1 went off without a hitch with all of our members showing their green spirit. Stay tuned for this week's photos to come!

Dr. Rosaline Darty is a powerful force in the health care community.
She currently serves as a pediatric nurse practitioner at David Raines Community Health Centers and has over 24 years of experience providing care to acutely and chronically ill pediatric patients. Additionally, Dr. Darty commits her time to promoting health and wellness in the community through education, with a focus on empowering teenage girls and women.
Her honors include nominee for the 2010 Louisiana Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year, participant in the 2013 Nurse in Washington Internship, 2015 Outstanding Medical Professional by the Shreveport/Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce and Recipient of the prestigious 2018 ATHENA International Leadership Award.
She is also a published author and public speaker who regularly inspires audiences with her passion for medicine, women's empowerment, and community service.

On this final day of Black History Month, Beta Psi recognizes a local hero Dr. Wanda Henderson-Thomas. Dr. Wanda Henderson-Thomas is the associate dean for the LSU Health School of Medicine, professor for the Department of Pediatrics, and she still sees the smallest patients in the clinic. Dr. Henderson-Thomas believes that being a pediatrician helps her to stay renewed every day. Dr. Henderson-Thomas believes that equitable, fair healthcare should be a priority for everyone. Having someone who understands your healthcare and your background is paramount. As dean of students, Dr. Henderson-Thomas helps students to make sure we have a medical school representative of the patients we see and serve to get a real sense of what it is like to take care of a healthcare community.
Today we highlight our very own Soror Connie Seets Reynolds, owner and operator of Smart Health CARE which she has been running with her sisters for 25 years. Connie has been in the healthcare field for 36 years. She loves providing home healthcare service to the home bound and elderly. er gold and providing cure is to treat her client as if they were her family. She also works at Brentwood hospital and take care of patient with mental care issues. She volunteers her time with Bossier Parish Headstart system. Her goal is providing care to her community. Connie is the only Black-owned full service home care agency in the Shreveport Bossier Area.

In celebration of Black History the Extensions of Excellence Performing Arts Inc. presents Shreveport Rising: We've Come This Far by Faith! Join the ladies of Beta Psi Chapter and the City of Shreveport as we recognize our very own civil rights activist Mamie Love Wallace. Come and learn more at the Shreveport Rising Stage Play Production, February 19th at 7:30 pm. at the Strand Theatre in Shreveport. Beta Psi Chapter is participating in the 34th Annual Black History Parade. This year's theme is "Black Health and Wellness." The parade rolls on Saturday morning, Feb. 5th at 11am and can be seen on KPXJ CW21 in Shreveport-Bossier. Former State Representative Barbara Norton started this parade 34 years ago, and has grown it to an amazing celebration in our community.
