Teachings of Nanise'

Teachings of Nanise' Plants supply knowledge & nutrients for us to learn, live & grow. It is also through their existence we are able to Indiginize ourselves & become a people.

Teachings of Nanisé’ is a website for the re-education of knowledge and relations the Diné (Navajo) have with our Nanise’ (Plants). By using the living principles, what we also call Sá’ah Naagháí Bik’eh Hózhóón, we encourage the visitors, viewers, and youth to this site to engage in the learning Nanisé’ offers for our people in relation to Nitsáhákees (Thinking), Nahatá (Planning), Iiná (Plannin

g), and Siih Hasin (Assuring). The necessity of learning these teachings is another step in laying a foundation of strength for our people, communities, and the spherical habitats we call home. We look to enable the youth (future) to interact and relate more with their elders (past) and the land we come from. The ultimate goal is to help our sacred mountains shine with their strength in the eyes of the Diné (People).
