Hello members and followers

As promised, a picture of one of the completed projects. A couple of the board members today went up and put up our new sign (pictured Jay Nelson and Bob Badtke and Kevin Conradt also present).
There are a couple people we would like to thank, Shiocton shop class for donating their time to make the signs, Seymour lumber for donating the the boards and Mike Genske from Scott Marcks Excavating for auguring the holes for us and helping to place it.

We teamed up with Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for this one day event. It will be at the rifle range in Shiocton to help educate our youth on shooting and gun handling.

We would like to update you on a few of the projects that we have coming up soon.

First one - Replacing 2 handicap fishing piers up at Koepke’s boat landing north of Shiocton.

Second - Students from Shiocton High School shop class made the new Wisconsin Wildlife Area sign. We will be placing on Highway 187.

Third - The board did approve to get a bronze sign made for the major flood that we had this past spring. It will be on a rock and placed at Bamboo Bend. Be sure to stop and take a look once we get it placed. Good reminder on the history that was made!!

As these projects commence, we will certainly be taking pictures and keep you all informed.

Hello members and followers

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the tragic tornado this last week. We wanted to do our part, so we took $1500 of the member’s money and spent it on gift cards from Menards, Kwik trip, Walmart. Winnebago County will disperse the gift cards out the way they see fit.

What a terrible thing that these people have to go through.

Hello members and followers

A few months ago we did a handicap pier up on County Road P on the Shioc River. One of our lifetime members approached us and said he goes up there three times a week and picks up garbage from people that are using that pier or just plain parking there. So we decided to put a garbage can there. Hopefully people will use it so we can try to keep the river and shoreline litter free.

The trail maintenance on the La Sage property is located off of Highway S which runs parallel with the Wolf River right by the bridge is sponsored by Shadows on the Wolf.

Huge shout out to Tom Keller for mowing the trails, removing trees and coming with other plans to make the trail better. It is 2.3 miles that he maintains.

If you get a chance, take a walk out there and see the great work that is being done by Tom.

Hello members and followers

We calculated how much money we raised at our Ruff fish tournament on the 11th.
The total was $9416.00.
All of that money will go into our building fund for expenses so we can continue on having an educational classes.
We can’t thank you people enough for all who participated and volunteered their time to the Ruff Fish Tournament that day.
The money you spent is definitely going to a great cause.

Pictured below is Spencer Young the artist who painted this painting to raise money for the flood victims fund in Shiocton. Also pictured is Kevin Conradt, Bob Badtke and Jay Nelson (Shadows board members)

We finally got this painting hung at the Shadows on the Wolf Educational Center. It has found its forever home!! What amazing journey that this painting traveled to get to this point.

The 43rd Ruff Fish Tournament was HUGE success.

We had over 200 people registered!

The winners of the $100 ticket is in the picture below.

In the kids category the top 5 are as follows:

1st - Corbin Malliet - 24” dogfish
2nd - Zoe Prelesnik - 22” sucker
3rd - Maci Williams - 21 1/2” sucker
4th - Colton Van Oss - 21” sucker
5th - Jaxson Van OSS - 21” sucker
