In Memoriam: Associate Professor Emeritus Roger Hamood

It is with deep sadness that I am posting information about the passing of Shepherd University's beloved accounting professor, Roger Hamood. The information below is from an email from Shepherd University's Provost:

"We have received the sad news that Roger Hamood, who served Shepherd University for 41 years before retiring in 2019, passed away on July 28, 2026.

During his distinguished career, Roger served with dedication as an associate professor of accounting and department chair. His passion for teaching, commitment to his students, and lasting contributions to the University left a meaningful impact on generations of graduates, colleagues, and the broader Shepherd community. In recognition of his extraordinary commitment to accounting education, friends, family, and alumni established the Roger Hamood Accounting Student Endowment, ensuring that his legacy of supporting Shepherd students will continue for years to come. https://www.shepherd.edu/roger-hamood-accounting-student-endowment/

Thanks to everyone that attended the Alumni Dinner! It was an enjoyable evening with students and alumni. The pictures tell the story. We socialized, ate, played games, solved a fraud mystery, presented all the activities that the Club did over the academic year, and gave away door prizes. We hope that everyone returns next year and for alumni that were unable to attend this year, we hope you can attend next year. We thank all the sponsors for the door prizes and for all the donors that contributed to the Club this year. We could not do it without you! Enjoy the pictures.....

Thank you to our recent alumni panelists last night. The students enjoyed receiving your advice as they plan to enter the workforce. We are so proud of the 4 alumni that answered questions last night - Alex Myers, Abby McCoy, Chris Catlett, and Ben Nutzman. It means so much to have a session for alumni to share experiences and advice to students.

We also thank, Angela Doyle, for moderating the panel. She did an excellent job!!
