SHS R.E.B.O.O.T.

SHS R.E.B.O.O.T. REBOOT is the entrepreneurship program of Shelbyville High School. Click to learn more about our program.

The program allows students to explore business ownership by creating, managing and operating a series of small businesses. During the first semester, REBOOT will create and operate businesses as a group. The largest undertaking as a group is the sale of metal pumpkins and lighted Christmas trees & presents, in partnership with other classes, including Welding and Accounting. The business started

as an opportunity presented by the Shelbyville Festival of Lights committee to produce and sell a few Christmas trees as a fundraiser for the welding program. It was then expanded to include other classes and progressed from a fundraiser to an actual business. The items are assembled from rebar by the welding class and all classes combine to complete the painting and wiring. REBOOT will handle the marketing, sales, order tracking, & delivery aspects of the business, as well as coordinating the production schedule with members of the Welding program. Members of the REBOOT program who are also enrolled in Accounting will be responsible for all accounting and financial reporting. The business is made possible due to the continued support of the Shelbyville Festival of Lights committee.
