Guess What?? Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, our last week of school, are now abbreviated days! We start at 7:30 and dismissal is at 11:00 a.m. Please be there to pick up your student by 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. Friday school goes from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Living Museum went great yesterday. Seventh grade students dressed up as a historical figure and talked about that figure to staff and Dr. King and a couple of parents. Some costumes were hand made and some were bought and some were fabricated at the last second by me. I get stressed, but really do enjoy doing these extra things with my students.

I love it when former students drop by to say hi and show us their cap and gown. Often, society, parents, guardians or even teachers write someone off as a lost cause. I always believed in this student and couldn't be prouder! These are the moments that prove to me that my "Why" is working. My "Why" is encouraging students to make serious changes in their lives for the better. Congrats to this handsome young man and I will be there tonight to watch you cross that stage!

BCLA more than double our participation rate from last year! Six people signed up to run for our school but only four ran/walked the 5K. Actually, to be honest, two of us walked the mile and two ran the 5K. We had a lot of fun. There were many activities on the square that encouraged people to visit our local businesses and lots of things for the kids to do.

If you didn't get to participate this year, please start preparing for next year. BCLA will strive to best this years record next year by having six people run for our school!
