The Legacy of Love
“Now these three remain. Faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
Love is the thread that holds a life of purpose together. It is the one thing that never fades. Achievements may be forgotten and titles eventually pass to someone else, but love leaves a mark that time cannot erase. A life shaped by the love of Christ.
Love is not a soft sentiment. It is a courageous choice. Scripture shows us that love bears, believes, hopes, and endures. Love forgives when pride would rather hold a grudge. Love reaches out when fear would rather stay distant. Love serves when comfort would rather sit still. Every person who has impacted your life in the deepest way did so through love.
As believers, we are called to reflect the love of Christ to the world. Not the shallow love that changes with mood or convenience, but the steady love that flows from a heart shaped by God. When you spend time with someone who walks in love, you feel it. There is gentleness in their tone. There is patience in their responses. There is humility in their posture. Their presence brings peace because their heart has been with Jesus.
Your purpose is not only about what you do. It is about who you love along the way. Every act of kindness is a seed. Every sacrifice is an offering. Every prayer for others rises before God. This is the kind of legacy that outlives you. It is written in the hearts of the people you serve.
Ask the Lord to make you someone whose life points others to Him. A life marked by love is a life that walks with purpose.
Love is the lasting fruit of a purposeful life. Let every step you take leave a trail of grace behind you.
Who has left a mark on my life through their love?
What practical way can I show Christlike love this week?
What kind of spiritual legacy do I want to leave behind?
Lord, thank You for loving me with a steady and faithful love. Shape my heart so I can reflect that same love to others. Help my life leave behind a legacy that honors You. Amen.
