I have been near a sewing machine my whole life. My "Oma" made draperies and both of my aunts also spent a lot of time in their sewing rooms working on quilts, Barbie clothes, clothing and ornaments. My mom sewed clothing since high school and as a child I donned many matching outfits created for me and my sisters. I first started sewing when I was about 12. Since then I've always had a sewing machine nearby. I love giving and receiving handmade gifts. I've found that fabric is such a fun colorful medium to work with. I feel a connection to the women in my family by creating fun, colorful, useful items.

I did some deep diving into the vintage fabric piles at Just Love + gajettes . I came away with a big stash of some good stuff. These two fabric samples were just asking to be paired with the corduroy in the piles across the aisle. I made their wishes come true! They are going to come with me to Crafty Apple Fest this Saturday but you might have to fight me for them.

I’ve been having fun working on a couple mini Oxbow totes. It features a slip pocket on the front and a divided slip pocket on the inside. I just love the folded over detail on the handles which makes carrying it super comfortable. This one gets its photo shoot while I wait for the right colored strap for another one I have completed. They measure 12”x9”x3.5”.
