A few reminders beginning Monday, 8/24:

-The dress code will be strictly enforced. Check the handbook for any questions or clarification.

-Make sure cell phones are “out of sight and not heard.” Phones will be confiscated if seen or heard. Phones are returned at the end of the day.

-Teachers will begin taking tardies.

Encourage your child(ren) to continue doing all the great things they’ve been doing! We look forward to seeing your babies tomorrow!

Join us as we “Ignite The Classroom” and send a warm thank you to Huntington Bank for their support in helping these outstanding educators participate in The Ron Clark Experience! Ms. Janisha Smith (Assistant Principal), Ms. Jamie Bridges (Librarian), Ms. Rolanda Parson (8th Grade ELA/Writing), and Ms. Sarah Hampton (7th Grade Math) were able to represent Shannon Middle School at The Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta alongside fellow educators throughout Tupelo and Lee County Schools.

Throughout their time at RCA they learned new ways to inspire, engage, and motivate our students. Now, they will be using those skills to foster community, collaboration, higher level critical thinking, and accountability amongst students.

We hope to share more about The Ron Clark experience as the school year continues and look forward to a year filled with success!

I have been remiss in forgetting to mention Debra Morris! Debra Morris is SMS’ Lifecore Therapist. She is definitely instrumental in the workings of our school. She is amazing and is committed to helping our students. Thank you for showing your wonderful self to all of our events!

Thank you to the people behind the scenes making things happen for our kids! Our teachers have been amazing in volunteering their time before school begins!

Thank you to Ms. Hudson, Ms. Shannon, Dr. Garrett, Mrs. Kent, Mrs. Pulliam, Ms. Jones, Ms. Fields, Ms. Bridges, and Coach Metcalf. Our administration, Mr. Leasy and Ms. Smith, have started the year with a bang! We thank you!

Never can we forget Mr. Charles for all he does behind the scenes! Thank you!

Looks like we’re off to a great start! Our boys showed up in full force! Thank you to our middle school football coaches for bringing the boys straight from practice to participate and get to know our team of educators. Thank you so much to everyone who made this a success! Parents, students, administrators, teachers, coaches, and the wonderful ladies of SGRho for providing pizza and cookies. This goes to show you “Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!”
