Tree Bee Removal: Forced Abscond

The customer had hired another beekeeper to perform a “trapout” to remove a colony of bees living inside a tree. Unfortunately, the beekeeper set up the equipment, collected a fee, and never returned to finish the job.

We came in and used a forced abscond technique to get the bees out of the tree and resolve the situation.

What an awesome time with YBS (Young, Beginning and Small) Farmers in McAllen, TX this week. The team at Capital Farm Credit convenes this group to brainstorm ways we can encourage folks to take up the noble work of farming. As the lone beekeeper, I’m the one “fringe element” of the group, and really learn so much from these dynamic, young farmers and producers.
