Got called to an emergency situation today. Cow injured her leg and was no longer able to get up. Happy to be able to keep her from going to waste. Plenty of excellent meat with a carcass weight of 647 lbs.

Got a couple opportunities to have some poultry classes in June, probably towards the first half of June. I am wanting to know how many people would have interest in attending a hands-on, home poultry butchering class?

Got called today for a young heifer that went down after going for a rambunctious run through the lot. Unfortunately, she was not able to get up after 24 hours of observation so the decision was made to make the most of the situation before she suffered any more. Great carcass weight of 486 lbs.

The Mid-MO Homestead Expo is April 3 and 4 at the Lowell Mohler Building on the Sedalia State Fairgrounds. Doors open at 10 AM both days (9:30 for premium ticket holders) and we go until 5 PM.

General admission is free. If you want to get in early and have a reserved seat for select speaker sessions, premium tickets are $15.
We have 20 speakers, 40+ vendors, a seed swap, outdoor demos, and two full days of practical, hands-on knowledge that is genuinely hard to find anywhere else.

For food, Knothedz Mobile will be on site with their full menu, and inside you will find sourdough, baked goods, hand pies, and more. If you want to make a full day of it, Sedalia has some fantastic locally owned options worth exploring. Kehde's Barbecue is just down the road and if you have never eaten in an old train car, that alone is worth the trip.
