This is a local autism support group for caregivers, parents, teachers, & individuals who are affected by disabilities in some way. Hi and welcome to our page!

Always remember, baby steps are still stepping stones! This group is the result of hard work and dedication by local students. They saw an opportunity in our community and ran with it by organizing the first annual Stepping For The Spectrum 5k. Even though some of the students will be moving on after graduation they will still be an integral part in the day to day of the group. We hope to raise a

Before I introduce our new logo, I want to share the incredible person behind it.

When we changed the name of Stepping Stones, a new logo was inevitable. I really wanted someone who truly understood our mission, and what an honor it is to have Morgan McCartney step into this role. We are so thankful for her, and we appreciate all that she is and all that she brings to our organization. 🩷

Get to know Morgan! 😁
ā€œMy name is Morgan, and I’m a newly licensed tattoo artist at Dreamer’s Tattoo and Piercing. If you’ve ever been tattooed by me, you know I’m missing all but one hand. I was born with Amniotic Banding Syndrome and have had about 15 surgeries for my limb differences, with my last being in 2020 when I became an amputee after doctors had to remove my foot.
I have two children, one of whom was diagnosed with ASD/ODD/ADHD at the age of 6, and another who was diagnosed with Celiac disease around the age of 5. So when it comes to disabilities, I think it’s safe to say I’ve experienced a few things over the course of my life.
When I saw the opportunity to create a logo for Stepping Stones, I envisioned my own personal journey as well as my children’s. As parents, we often want to save our children and hold their hands as they endure life’s scary challenges. But I think one of the most important things you can do as a parent is simply step back and offer support and love as they navigate their own paths.
So I drew that vision of every parent out there cheering on their children as they overcome obstacles that most people take for granted. No one’s journey is the same, but no matter what path you’re on, you truly can overcome anything as long as you have your support system.
That’s why I’m thankful for organizations like Stepping Stones Foundation, The Lucky Fin Project, and the National Celiac Association. The world already tells those who are different that they’ll never overcome things, but with groups like these, it’s truly amazing what doors can be opened for individuals so they can succeed.
So thank you, Stepping Stones, for offering a space that supports so many! šŸ©·ā€

🌟 Meet the Board! 🌟

Please help us welcome Robin Fitzpatrick, our IEP Co-Coordinator for Stepping Stones Autism Support Group! šŸ’™šŸ§©

Robin is an educator, advocate, and Varsity Cheer Coach who is deeply committed to improving the lives of children and families through education, advocacy, and community leadership.

With an extensive background in special education, mathematics education, elementary mathematics, curriculum and instruction, and Family & Consumer Sciences, Robin has dedicated her career to creating inclusive learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive. She holds a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction and has served in a variety of educational roles, including special education case management, co-teaching, mathematics instruction, elementary mathematics specialist, and high school Family & Consumer Sciences education.

As a mother of six children—including a son who is autistic and has developmental delays—Robin brings both professional expertise and personal experience to her role. She understands firsthand the challenges families face while navigating educational, medical, and community systems and is passionate about empowering parents with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for their children.

As our IEP Co-Coordinator, Robin will work alongside our IEP team to help families better understand the special education process, provide guidance, and connect parents with the resources and support they need. Having two IEP Co-Coordinators allows us to reach and support more families across Missouri, ensuring that more parents have access to advocacy and guidance when they need it most.

Robin believes every child deserves respect, opportunity, and the support needed to reach their fullest potential, and we are honored to have her as part of the Stepping Stones family.

šŸ’™ Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Robin to the Stepping Stones Board! We are so excited to have her serving our families and community.
