This is a local autism support group for caregivers, parents, teachers, & individuals who are affected by disabilities in some way. Hi and welcome to our page!
Always remember, baby steps are still stepping stones! This group is the result of hard work and dedication by local students. They saw an opportunity in our community and ran with it by organizing the first annual Stepping For The Spectrum 5k. Even though some of the students will be moving on after graduation they will still be an integral part in the day to day of the group. We hope to raise a

On May 7th, I had the pleasure of meeting with some amazing individuals from the Sedalia Kiwanis Club. I already knew Vaughn and was excited for the opportunity to share about Stepping Stones Autism Support Group and discuss how autism and other disabilities impact so many individuals and families in our community.
At the time, I didnβt know much about the Kiwanis Club. Life hasnβt slowed down enough for me to attend more meetings, but this organization has already become very special to me. Their dedication to the children of Sedalia and supporting their growth, success, and well-being is truly inspiring. What an incredible group to be a part of. Even more meaningful is seeing how much they value and support children with disabilities.
During my presentation, they asked how our organization planned to use the funding they generously provided. To be honest, I didnβt have a great answer at the time. We are still a new organization, working hard to build resources and funding for future events, programs, and supports.
Recently, a service coordinator reached out to me looking for assistance with a Heckart Community Center membership for a consumer. In that moment, I knew this was the perfect use of the funds that were so kindly entrusted to us by the Sedalia Kiwanis Club.
Because of their generosity, we are able to help create opportunities for inclusion, recreation, and community involvement for individuals with disabilities. Thank you, Sedalia Kiwanis Club, for believing in our mission and for your continued support of the disability community. Your kindness is making a difference. π€
