🐺 Wolf or dog? How about a little of both?

Wolfdogs—often called wolf hybrids—are animals with both domestic dog and wolf ancestry. While they can be absolutely stunning, their wild ancestry can also mean very different behaviors and needs than the average family dog.

Wolfdogs may be more independent, have a strong prey drive, be incredible escape artists, and require secure housing, enrichment, training, and an owner who understands their behavior. The amount of wolf ancestry can vary greatly from one animal to another, so there is no single “wolfdog personality.”

They’re fascinating animals, but definitely a great example of why loving an exotic animal and being prepared to care for one are two very different things. ❤️🐺

Skunks are omnivores, so a healthy diet includes a wide variety of foods—not just meat and not just vegetables. Every bowl is carefully balanced to help keep them healthy and prevent obesity as they grow.

I’d say this little guy gives last night’s dinner two paws up. 🦨❤️

Meet Molly! 🦜💙💛

Molly is a Blue and Gold Macaw and around 35 years old. A dear friend of mine adopted her from a rescue a few years ago, and unfortunately Molly’s life previously is unknown except she plucked her feathers.
My friend had a baby recently and the stress of the change, and having to share her attention, reverted Molly back to plucking. She was so loved by her owner but she wanted better for her, a life where she could receive more attention and care, and so she reached out to me… and of course I said yes!

This gentle giant is absolutely precious. She has only been with me for about a month- but she’s already stopped plucking and is growing in new down and pin feathers!! It’s been amazing watching her trust and bond .. and a wonderful reminder of how a stable environment, enrichment, and consistent interaction can make such a difference.

Feather plucking isn’t “bad behavior”—it’s often a sign that something isn’t right. Stress, boredom, loneliness, medical issues, hormonal changes, poor nutrition, and a lack of mental stimulation can all contribute. While not every bird can fully recover, giving them the care they need can dramatically improve their quality of life.

I’m so excited to watch Molly continue her journey. Even though we’re still in the early stages, I’m hopeful to see her fully feathered one day!! ❤️🪶
