You’re playing 2–3x a week. So why aren’t you getting better as quickly anymore? 👀

One of the most frustrating parts of the pickleball plateau is that you’re doing what you thought you were supposed to do:

You’re playing.
You’re getting reps.
You’re gaining experience.

And you HAVE gotten better.

But eventually, simply playing more may not be enough to get you to the next level.

Because here’s the tricky part:

You don’t know what you don’t know.

You might be making the same positioning mistake over and over without realizing it.

You might be practicing a shot in a way that’s actually reinforcing a bad habit.

You might know how to hit certain shots, but not understand when or why to use them.

Or you might simply have no idea which 1–2 things would make the biggest difference in your game right now.

That’s when improvement becomes less about accumulating more hours on the court and more about intentional practice, feedback, and understanding your game.

Lindsey described it perfectly — she was playing around 3x a week and getting better… and then she felt herself plateau.

Anyone else in this stage right now? Does this resonate? 🙋‍♀️

And if you’re thinking, “Yep… but I have no idea what I actually need to work on,” I’m opening up a few complimentary 15-minute Pickleball Breakthrough Calls this week.

We’ll talk about where your game is now, where you want to go, and what might help you take that next step.

👇 Comment BREAKTHROUGH and I’ll send you the link to book a call.

🏓 MERCER ISLAND — WE’RE BACK! 🙌

After taking a break for the summer, one of our most popular indoor pickleball leagues is officially returning this fall!

Starting September 27, we’re back at the Mercer Island Community Center for six Sundays of organized, beginner-friendly pickleball. 💙

If you’ve been wanting to play more consistently but don’t have a regular group, partner, or place to play — this is exactly what our leagues are designed for.

Every Sunday, just show up and play. We take care of the rest.

🏓 Games organized around relative skill level
🔄 Rotating partners & opponents
⚖️ Evenly matched gameplay
🤝 A welcoming community to play with every week
⭐ Opportunity to build your DUPR rating
🙌 No partner required
🎒 No equipment required

And if the word “league” sounds intimidating — don’t let it!

This league is designed for beginner, advanced beginner and early intermediate players. You don’t need to be an experienced competitor or have a DUPR rating to join.

The goal is simple: play consistently, meet people, get lots of real-game reps, and become a more confident pickleball player along the way.

📅 Sundays | 11:30am–1:30pm
🏓 6 weeks | Starts September 27
📍 Mercer Island Community Center
🏠 INDOORS — no worrying about Seattle fall weather! 🌧️😂

We’ve missed our Mercer Island crew and can’t wait to be back. Come find your weekly pickleball home this fall! 💙

What happens when you immerse yourself in your pickleball game for 3 days?

You get to slow down. Learn. Practice. Get feedback. Try it in gameplay. Mess it up. Figure out WHY. And try again. 🔁

All in a safe, supportive environment where making mistakes is part of the process.

And slowly, those “UGH, why do I keep doing that?!” moments start becoming…

“Ohhhh. I know what happened there.” 💡

That feeling is SO empowering.

But some of the best parts happen off the court, too.

You eat together. Hang out overlooking the water. Talk entirely too much pickleball. 😂 Make new friends. Cheer each other on.

And somehow, you laugh harder than you ever have.

Because the connection isn’t separate from the growth.

It’s part of what makes the growth possible.

Three days to Play. Connect. Grow.

And you take what you learned, the confidence you built, and the friendships you made home with you.

Sept 11–13 • Whidbey Island • 2 spots left 👀

DM me RESET if one might be yours. 💛

There’s a stage of pickleball I see ALL the time. 👀

You’re not really a beginner anymore.

You know the rules. You can rally. You know where you’re supposed to stand. You’ve learned different shots.

But once the point actually starts…

you’re mostly just trying to survive it. 😂

Ball comes → react.

Get it back over the net.

Next ball → react again.

Someone speeds it up → panic.

You get pulled out of position → scramble.

And your main thought becomes:

“JUST GET THE BALL BACK.”

There’s not much intention behind where you’re putting the ball, why you’re choosing that shot, or what you’re trying to create next.

And this is actually a really normal stage of learning.

Because eventually, getting better at pickleball isn’t just about learning MORE shots.

It’s about learning how to SEE the game differently. 👀

Instead of only reacting to whatever comes at you, you start thinking:

Where do I want this ball to go?

Why am I choosing this shot?

Should I attack this ball or be patient?

What am I trying to set up next?

Where should I move after I hit it?

You start recognizing patterns.

You start anticipating instead of only reacting.

You start making decisions with intention.

And slowly, the game stops feeling like something that’s constantly happening TO you.

You start actually PLAYING it. 🔥

That shift from…

reacting → understanding → choosing

…is one of my favorite transitions to help players make.

Because once you start understanding what’s actually happening on the court, even your mistakes feel different.

Instead of:

“UGH. Why did I do that?!”

You start thinking:

“Ohhhh. I know what happened there.”

And now you can actually adjust.

Sometimes getting better isn’t about simply playing MORE pickleball.

Sometimes you need to slow the game down enough to understand what’s happening — and figure out what you don’t know yet. 💛
