Founded in 2008 by Ian Campbell Their work is informed by the exploration of light, the process of making + craft and the formation of memories.

RSVR visual research is an exploratory design and fabrication practice focused on merging architecture, art, and industrial design, led by Ian Campbell, Hayley Buckbee and Jena Restad. Every project has a uniquely designed fabrication process that challenges the status quo, with the aim of creating environments that enhance sensation, generate spectacle and invite personal engagement.

As a participant of [PARK]ing day in the Fremont neighborhood, RSVR asked the public about their relationship to Seattle's Bascule Bridges. The iconic bridges not only play a role in municipal infrastructure and history, but also in our everyday lives as well as our personal memories. We are exploring ownership and connectivity through questions like "Which Bridge is your Bridge?" in order to better understand the public perspective of the bridges on a more personal level. Follow our residency process here on facebook, on instagram , or through blog postings on our website www.RS-VR.com!

Our 4-month long residency in the SE University Bridge tower has officially begun. The first day was filled with sun, rain, lightning, wind, and many bridge openings. I spent most the day just watching out the windows coming to terms with how incredible this opportunity and workspace truly are. I will be posting updates on Instagram of our work and daily bridge happenings so stay tuned! If you want to schedule a time to come visit please let me know. We will be holding several community events throughout the fall.

RSVR is excited to announce that we have been selected for the city of Seattle’s lighting artist residency in the southwest tower of the University Bridge. We will undertake an in-depth exploration of Seattle's three historic bascule bridges: the University, Fremont, and Ballard bridges, and create a conceptual plan for lighting each bridge. Many thanks to The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture and Seattle Department of Transportation for the opportunity.
