Welcome to Women's Group! This week featured the Cottonwood tree, the tallest deciduous native tree in the PNW and the bridge between Father Sky and Mother Earth, as the Lakota people say. Air and water, swords suit and cups suit, logic and emotion, head and the heart. Poetry, journaling, meditation, movement and song. Another 8-week Women's Nature Circle series starts in April.

Ahh the sweet scented Cottonwood tree buds are coming out! There is a golden resin that squeezes out of the buds and when infused into an oil or salve it is a balm for sore joints. It is a pain reliever and has salicin in it, the active ingredient in aspirin. It is also great for wound care, bc it's antibacterial, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory. The Lakota people say the Cottonwood is the Tree of Life and the bridge between earth and sky.
Join me for a Foraging and Wildcrafting Plant Class featuring Cottonwood on Saturday 2/21 11am-1pm in Snohomish, WA!
