The world of FB is smaller than the real world. If you care to join me and subscribe to my new Blog! It wasn't long ago when I said I am lucky to still have both my parents alive and well. Having no immediate family die on us before, we won't know what to expect, how to act, what to say or not. Just like having kids. There's no manual for this kind of stuff. Advice is taken with a grain of salt. However, no amount of preparation of such an event can eleviate the aftermath and the void left on our hearts.
I now I have 2 death experiences. My mom and a best friend. In contrast, I was no where near how I would act and each grief was different.
One things for sure, I've learned that first death has a unique way of separating your preconceived reality to a place you could never again return.
Does each death thereafter get easier? I say, yes, they do. Because you'll learn how to deal with it and the emotions are not a stranger to your demeanor.
Likewise, you'll know now, how to either bow out gracefully or grin and bare it, when dealing with others concerns.
In retrospect, one advice that may help, if it's your own "first" grief, prepare to disconnect from everything and anyone. In dealing with others first grief, it's never ever, about you. So leave them alone. Sideline until they want you there. And be available at any time. Have a blessed day.
