Hope everyone is having an amazing winter break! Yesterday brothers Gary Tran, Charlie Jellison, Dangkhoa Huynh and Travis Hayes spent their Christmas Eve Eve volunteering for a feed the homeless program in their hometown of Olympia, WA. Way to give back to your community in the holiday spirit, gentleman!

2017 Pi Kappa Alpha Skate Date was a huge success! The Beta Beta men and their lovely dates had an excellent time skating (or falling) into dead week, and even got Mr. Claus onto the ice for a photo op 🎅🎄❄️

Our 26th member or PC 17 is Taylor Freitag from Mira Costa High School in Hermosa Beach, California. Taylor finished high school with a 3.83 GPA while being a member of both the cheer and football team. Taylor will be continuing cheer here at UW, where he will be on the official UW cheer team. Taylor will be studying biochemistry, where he was a direct admin to the biochemistry program at UW! Taylor views himself as someone that is always willing to sacrifice anything for the people he loves and his brothers. Taylor is excited to meet people who will become his lifelong friends. He is also excited to be able to study his interests at the university. Congratulations Taylor and welcome to Pike!

Our 25th member of PC 17 is Charlie Jellison from Olympia, WA. Charlie attended North Thurston High School where he finished with a 3.9 GPA! Charlie was involved in the Student Government, National Honor Society, NTHS Marching Band, and volunteered as a coach for Grass Roots Soccer Camp. During his last year in high school, Charlie was elected to be the Senior Class Vice President. He was also given the AP Scholar Award. Throughout his entire life, Charlie has been an avid soccer player. Charlie played soccer for the NTHS Varsity Soccer program, and also played club soccer for Blackhills FC. He was the North Thurston High School soccer team captain, a 4x recipient of the North Thurston School District Scholar Athlete Award, an All-League Selection for 3A Narrows League (Junior Year), an All-League Selection for 3A South Sound Conference (Senior Year), and a 2017 Olympia All-Area Boys Soccer Team Selection. In his free time, Charlie's hobbies listening to music and drawing for design purposes. In the future, Charlie would like to be a Creative Director for a major corporation. He plans to better Pike by taking a creative and unconventional approach to any task that might come his way. Ultimately, Charlie is searching for his passion here at UW, and would ultimately like to pursue it one day. Welcome to the PC, Charlie!

Our 24th member of PC 17 is Brian Piscopo from Huntington Beach, CA! Brian attended Edison High School where he ended with an impressive 4.4 GPA. Brian was also active within his high school community. He was a member of the National Honors Society, a camp counselor at Soccer for Hope, and a tutor in physics and math. He also played competitive soccer for Edison High School and West Coast FC. With his success on the soccer field, Brian was awarded an OCVarsity Scholar Athlete of the week, 1st team all-Sunset League, 2 time all-Sunset League academic team, 4 time Scholar Athlete, and his team was a California State Semi Finalist. Brian's club soccer team were 2017 Calsouth National Cup champions, 2017 USYS Region 4 champions, 2017 USYS national finalists, and his team finished second in the nation. In his free time, Brian enjoys video editing, playing and watching sports, playing FIFA, watching YouTube videos, and listening to music. Brian was a direct admit to the Michael G. Foster School of Business where he would like to focus on either accounting or finance. His dream job is to be the CFO of a major corporation. Brian is a passionate person who has the ability to set a goal and do whatever it takes to achieve that goal. At UW, Brian is looking forward to attending sports games, learning about his major and meeting his best friends. He is also planning to be the team manager for the UW soccer team! Welcome our next member of PC 17, Ryan Kittle from Temecula, California. Ryan attended Great Oak High School where he graduated with a 4.7 GPA. His primary involvement outside of school was when he was a volunteer with Amigos de las Americas in the Dominican Republic in 2015. He was a member of the Training and a Senior Training Staff Member for the San Diego Chapter of Amigos. Additionally, Ryan was a member of NHS and Science Olympiad. Ryan is a National Merit Scholarship Finalist and a National AP Scholar. For his high school Ryan was on the cross country team, track team, and lacrosse team. Ryan's favorite hobbies are backpacking and rock climbing. He is going to major in Environmental Science and Terrestrial Resource Management. Ryan plans to bring his sense of humor and outgoing personality to Pike. Ryan is most looking forward to getting to know the Seattle area and making the PNW his home.
