Happy 250th birthday USA! So grateful to live in this remarkable country. What beauty, resources, and opportunities God has blessed it with. A very unique place. It took me many years to get here too, doing things the right way. So I never take anything for granted. At the very least, I want to soundly contribute to this country (as every newcomer should), honor its heritage, and be an asset to its wider enterprise, as I enjoy its many privileges and natural abundance.
Believe me, I have seen both the loveliness and horror of Europe. Just as I have witnessed both the excellence and tribulations of America. Both. I am glad to be born an Englishman, and glad to live in America. Both. I want to understand all facets. I don't walk around with a romanticized lens glued to my eyes. I want to see the truth. Not a story.
This is what I see. Empire hates America. Why? Because it doesn’t like governing power in the hands of the people. It pretends to, but it doesn't. It also doesn't like countries doing their own thing. Being all independent and everything. It pretends to, but it doesn't. Consequently, Empire has done everything in its power to destroy this constitutional republic from day one. First from the outside, militarily, and then from the inside, culturally. Smearing, contaminating, dividing. It has been a constant battle. The cracks are not hard to see. And America has its own deep state factions too of course. There are many problems. All the more incredible then, that despite this centuries-long attack, America is still here and still works. Still bold and beautiful. Still infinitely freer and stronger than anywhere else I've ever been (which is a lot of places). A truly exceptional land.
So Happy Birthday America. I live in the Southeast USA now, and have noted more flags and genuine joy than I've seen previously. What a pleasant surprise. A kind neighbor has invited me and my good lady round for a BBQ soiree with friends this evening. There's a big fireworks display over the river tonight in the old town. So, whilst I celebrate in a rather traditional manner today (quite novel for me), I will not forget the massive contribution that the founding fathers and good American people have made to freedom, courage, commonsense, exposing empire, and honoring Godly endeavor. Thank you & God bless! NK
