🌞 Summer is in full swing at BYC Kids, and we’ve kicked things off with a wild, wonderful adventure into The Great Outdoors! 🌿⛺️

Over the past two weeks, our campers have hiked waterfalls at Snoqualmie Falls, played in the tide at Lincoln Park, explored secret trails at Discovery Park, and soaked up the sun at Carkeek Beach. From finding treasures to climbing trees, it’s been nothing short of magical! 💦🍃✨

But we’re just getting started…

🎨 Each week brings a brand-new theme—in the mornings we dive deep into creative projects that we build on day by day, and in the afternoons, we take it outside to hike, explore, splash, and PLAY. Even during Theater Camp we’re out there being wild and free—because summer’s meant to be lived the old-fashioned way!

They captured textures, colors, light, and the little everyday moments that often go unnoticed. Their perspectives are inspiring and full of heart.💜

Our BYC photographers have been busy behind the lens capturing the beauty of spring just in time for Mother’s Day! Each child took their own photo of a flower—learning about composition, light, and focus. The results are so sweet and full of heart. We love seeing their creativity blossom!

🌈 Last week at BYC Kids, we celebrated the vibrant Festival of Colors—Holi! We explored the meaning behind this joyful celebration, shared stories of love and light, and of course, had fun with colorful art projects inspired by the holiday! 💛💚💜
Holi reminds us to let go of the old, welcome in the new, and celebrate togetherness, joy, and creativity. The kids loved expressing themselves with color and learning about traditions from around the world! 🌏🎨

I’m excited to announce that we’ve officially changed the name of Ballard Yoga Collective to Ballard Youth Creative!

It took some time to decide how to keep the recognizable “BYC” in our name, especially since it has become familiar to the elementary schools and our broader community. I wanted to find a name that truly represents who we are, what we stand for, and the work we’re doing. As we continue to expand into the world of creative arts, this new name felt like the perfect fit.

Ballard Youth Creative will continue to grow and evolve, with the goal of becoming a legitimate and recognized name here in Seattle, offering an inclusive creative arts school for all. We are excited to continue this journey with you and to see how our community continues to flourish.

Birthdays are extra special at BYC Kids! 🎉✨ We love celebrating with fun activities, creative projects, and lots of laughter. Whether it’s baking a sweet treat, making a birthday crown, or playing favorite games, we make sure every birthday kid feels extra loved on their special day! 🎂🎨💛

Today at BYC Kids, we built our own city with LEGO! 🏙️✨ The kids used LEGO bricks and paint to design streets, buildings, and colorful landscapes, turning their imaginations into a masterpiece. 🏗️🎨 It was a fun way to explore creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork! 🚗🌆
