One Thousand Cranes..
Fingers
honor commitment
with gifts of origami precision,

The Purple Crane Project encourages eleme

ntary school students and staff to make purple origami cranes to help raise awareness for Pancreatic Cancer. An ancient Japanese legend promises that anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane, such as long life or recovery from illness or injury. Jan Veile lost her couragious battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 57 on September 27, 2011 leaving behind her husband, son, and a multitude of family and friends. We ask that you fold a crane to honor Jan's life and the tens of thousands of people that have been struck by pancreatic cancer worldwide.
