"As a paraeducator I love the opportunity to work with students individually and in small groups, where I can support their learning in a focused and meaningful way. It’s rewarding to watch their skills and confidence grow! I especially enjoy supporting our youngest learners in Kindergarten as they begin their educational journey, seeing their excitement and love for school everyday."
- Diana Mar, Paraeducator, Syre Elementary School
Syre Elementary Principal Michelle Carroll shares, "Diana is working hard to support students in making both academic and social gains. In her role as a LAP and MLL paraeducator, she is deeply dedicated to her groups—taking the time to truly know her students and their individual needs. She consistently provides strong routines and clear structures that help students feel supported and successful. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and commitment to our students."
We are celebrating All-Staff Appreciation Week in Shoreline Schools. Please join us in thanking them for all that they do for our students!

Our second student is Syre Elementary School 5th grader Chris!
Chris is a kind, thoughtful student who gives his best in everything he does. He demonstrates strong perseverance when faced with challenges, and his curiosity and love of learning are evident across all subjects—especially when he shares his passion for birding and theater.
Chris has a remarkable ability to make others feel seen and welcomed, and his contagious smile sets a positive tone for our entire classroom community. He is a critical thinker who speaks up for what is right, and he balances it all with a grace that makes him an absolute joy to have in 5th grade.
Congratulations, Chris! Your kindness, curiosity, and perseverance make a difference every day. Keep shining and sharing your passions! 👏✨

🫶🏽 All-Staff Appreciation Week is a special time for our school district to celebrate and recognize the dedication, hard work, and impact of every staff member. From teachers and administrators to custodians, bus drivers, food service workers, and support staff, we want to show our gratitude for the countless ways they contribute to student success.
Next week, April 6-10, please consider honoring staff with gestures of appreciation, including handwritten notes, handmade cards, and other small tokens of gratitude. Whether it’s a kind message from a student, a classroom-created banner, or a simple treat, these acts of appreciation don’t have to be expensive to be meaningful. The most important thing is showing our staff that they are valued and appreciated.
Family members are encouraged to connect with their school's PTA to support any appreciation activities they may be organizing. Whether by contributing supplies, volunteering, or simply participating in planned celebrations, every effort helps make this week extra special for our incredible staff.
Let’s come together to make this a heartfelt celebration of the amazing individuals who make our schools a great place to learn and grow!
