Academy for Precision Learning APL is an independent K-12 school for all abilities that celebrates neurodiversity, located in Seattle's University District.

We wrapped up our summer program with a day at Seattle Center! ☀️

Our high school students explored , from interactive exhibits and indie video games to learning firsthand about volunteering at the museum. Our K–8 students explored , discovering butterflies, experimenting with interactive exhibits, and taking in the sights around Seattle Center.

This week's ESY theme was transportation, and our students explored it in a variety of ways! 🚆✈️🚌

Our K–8 students visited the Museum of Flight to learn more about aviation, our high school students practiced navigating Seattle's public transit system by riding five different forms of transportation, and our Harbor Seal class got creative by building their own buses during a hands-on classroom activity.

From classrooms to museums to Seattle's transit system, it was a week full of exploring how transportation connects our community.

This month we are shining the spotlight on Michael, our Development Manager!

Michael joined APL last summer and has had an amazing impact on our community. His favorite thing about APL is the sense of belonging the staff have for each other and the learners. It's a vibe!

Outside of APL, Michael enjoys acting and writing. He has been on TV and is currently writing a TV show! The one thing he can't live without is his family- including his cat.

We're so grateful to have Michael on the APL team and can't wait to see all he continues to accomplish!
