Wow — what a meaningful and joyful week at SHA!
Our Yom HaZikaron program for older students was deeply moving. From a powerful speaker, parent Ronen Goldsmith, to thoughtful stations — including art, stories of fallen soldiers and their families, and opportunities to connect with Israel — students were engaged at each station. Our younger students also participated in meaningful ways, hearing stories and writing letters to soldiers.
We then transitioned to Yom Ha’Atzmaut — and what a celebration it was! Thank you to our incredible PTO for a delicious lunch, and to our students and staff for filling the day with ruach and joy. Highlights included the daglanut (Israeli flag dance), lunch stations, and our on campus parade — the building was filled with energy and pride for Israel.
Spring at SHA is always something special. We see our students truly blossoming — their independence growing, their confidence shining, and the skills they’ve worked on all year coming together in meaningful ways. This growth is evident everywhere: in classrooms, on the playground, and during unstructured moments like lunch.
And none of this happens without our extraordinary faculty and staff. Their dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to each child make this growth possible. They nurture not only academic success, but also character, resilience, and a love of learning. Spring is when we see the results of their hard work come to life.
As we move toward the final stretch of the year, we are filled with gratitude — for our students, our teachers, and our community — and excitement for all that is still to come.
Many thanks and Shabbat Shalom,
Principal Kerri Stern

Dear SHA Community,
We focused a lot of attention on Israel this week.
Tuesday was Yom HaZikaron - Israel Memorial Day. Our students learned stories of heroes who fell in defense of the State of Israel and the Jewish People.
On Wednesday, we celebrated Yom Ha’Atzmaut - Israel Independence Day - with Hallel, a lunch, a parade and Daglanut - an Israeli Flag Dance.
Our SHA students and Alumni also participated in the community Tekes on Tuesday night at Or Chadash.
Thank you to our shlichim - the Yoav Family and the Rosenbloom Family - as well as Shinshinit Roni for their work in making these important days so special. Thank you also to the many PTO Volunteers who purchased and prepared Wednesday’s lunch. Thank you, as well, to Mr. Ronen Goldsmith for sharing the story of his step-brother Rabbi Avi Goldberg Hy”d.
May we see lasting and permanent peace, soon.
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Owen
