A quiet part of growth that people do not talk about enough:
you can deeply love who you once were,
and still know you cannot return there.
Some versions of us were built for survival.
Some were built to be loved.
Some were built to protect wounds we no longer carry.
And sometimes becoming yourself means grieving the identities that once kept you safe.
