Costume design, photoshoot styling and custom gowns by Brigid R Lohman. Photographers find her on-set styling work to be keen and professional.

Brigid Lohman caught the design bug early, choosing to sew for her dolls instead of buying Barbie clothes and spending every Christmas season watching the Nutcracker with pen and pad in hand to sketch new costumes for the dancers. Just read the most lovely feature on Jenny Beavan regarding her appearance at the Oscars. When she was nominated for “The King’s Speech,” she showed up similarly casually attired. She’s explained, “I have no interest in my own clothes or in clothes in general. My love is creating character through clothes.”

And that pretty much sums up how I feel about my own appearance and why usually when I show up on set I am wearing simple black jeans and a ratty men's shirt. The less time I waste on myself, the more I can devote to the actors trusting me to help them build a character.
