Thank you, thank you, thank you!
NWSSA's Youth Soapstone Carving Classes at Best of the Northwest Spring Show hosted over 40 kids in carving their own soapstone figurines over the weekend during Northwest Art Alliance's Spring "Best of the Northwest" Art Show & Sale.
Thanks to our members who helped set up, stepped up as instructors, and to the kids and parents of all those who attended. We hope you enoyed it!
So many of the kids left with big grins on their faces, and a new treasure they created themselves!
Thank you's also go out to Studiostone Creative for your soapstone carving supplies and instruction sheets,
And to 4Culture for your support to make this event possible!
Next time you're in Redmond, we hope you'll visit . There are 6 NWSSA members' stone sculptures on display. It is a beautiful setting and we're excited to see art in public spaces where everyone can enjoy them!

Throwback Thursday - who still has one of these gems in their studio or on a bookshelf?
NWSSA published a few editions of this Source Book between 1989 to 1995 including sections on stone and tool suppliers, services & repairs, instructors, art associations, books, and public art (where our members had public art on display). How cool is that?!
