COME MAKE JEWELRY // Summer Sessions are live. 🔥
Taking this class might just be the highlight of your summer — and I don’t say that lightly. It’s a few hours away from the noise, a torch in your hand, and something beautiful to show for it by the end of the night.
Ok, so maybe I’m the only one who cries (see slide 6) But I promise every single person leaves proud, a little surprised by themselves, and already plotting what they’re going to make next.
With classes running only 4 weeks, it’s easier than ever to commit. Come make something. Link in bio. 🔗

HER // when she was born and during my pregnancy I couldn’t believe that my body could grow a human. I did it and it’s still so wild for my brain to comprehend. I had a natural birth because I want to feel the awe of my body, and when she was earth side I shouted over and over “I made a baby!!!” I remember the flood of joy and shock to see this baby in my arms and think that my body could grow that.
And today she’s quickly approaching 18, graduation and college (she’s going to be an aesthetician!) I still look at her and think “I made you…” and it’s both a statement to myself and a question of dismay.
Happy Mother’s Day to all who are mamas, and especially to those who wish they were mamas, are mamas of the fur kind, who care like a mama even when it’s not of your body. And to those who this day is hard, I hope you find some tenderness for your heart today.
I was treated to a perfect day with a plunge full of solitude and quiet, breakfast and coffee at the farmers market, shopping at the antique store and used book store, followed by climbing trees, oysters and fresh made pasta with mushrooms from the market, and a movie on the couch with my fam. Seriously the perfect day.
Thanks for making me a Mom, Luka. I love you.

HOT TAKE!! // do you ever watch the videos of people who dig in the Thames river and pull up beautiful treasures that have been discarded or lost in the river? I love a good treasure hunt and these videos get me every time. I especially love that many of the things that are found in the river are not what most would call “precious”. They’re often made from glass, brass, pewter sterling silver, and yes, sometimes gold. While it is a precious treasure of the past, it is not (often) going to make you rich in anything other than the joy it brings when it’s found.
Brass is an heirloom metal! If you found this on the bottom of the river or in the ocean, you could pull it out polish it up and it would look exactly the same as it does today. Just. Like. Gold.
A friend brought me her favorite ring, which was a cheap old button with a plastic gemstone set in the top that was fashioned into a ring with a bit of gold fill wire. While it wasn’t expensive, it made her really happy and she loved wearing it! The wire had broke and she wanted me to repair it. Instead of redoing the wire and leaving her with the cheap version of a ring I asked if we could make a mold and create the ring out of brass. Instead, she wholeheartedly agreed, and I am pretty obsessed with how this ring turned out in the end!
We molded the original button, and then added a ring shank, and then set the plastic gemstone upside down, revealing the beautiful facets. This piece is truly an incredibly fun and wonderful gift that she can definitely pass down.
