What a difference one decision makes.
I used to respond to stress by numbing out: phone in hand, ice cream in bed, until I felt worse instead of better.
Then I realized: how I respond to stress is a decision, not a default.
Now, when stress hits, I try choosing differently: getting outside, breathing slowly, letting my nervous system actually settle instead of shutting down.
Same stress. Different decisions. Different outcome.
If you also reach for numbing when things get hard, save this. It might help you catch yourself sooner too.
