Elizabeth Cunningham () and I are hosting another FREE Community Q&A call this Saturday, October 15th, from 10am-12pm PST.

This is a space for you to bring your questions, your experiences in relationships, and your willingness to learn and grow with others in the poly and q***r communities.

Potential is seductive.

It allows us an escape from the present moment, but why escape from the present moment if it already is what you desire?

That's not to say that what is present in your partnership will always be sunshine and happiness, but there's a difference between sitting in the challenges of the present and escaping the challenges by avoiding the present.

The potential of a partner or of a relationship has their value AND have you forgotten about the value of being present to what actually is?

Feeling some discomfort?

Let's get curious.

If you classify all levels of discomfort as "bad" or "negative" or as a sign that the relationship is over, you're closing yourself to the other possibilities.

Is there a level of discomfort because you're not aligned with the relationship?

Is there a level of discomfort because you are being invited to step into a space you've never entered into in a relationship?

Both of those scenarios are inviting growth and growing pains are a very real thing. What are you being invited into?

What am I trying to be better at?

Being both supportive AND lovingly challenging both myself and the people I love, and that includes you.

Choosing your hard may not seem like a helpful decision to make, but this is what happens in relationships.

What can be helpful for you in moments like this? Remembering your intention and what is leading your choice.

Do you want to be led by fear or by love? Do you want to shrink in relationships or expand?

This is me lovingly challenging you to take responsibility for the choices you are making. This is also me lovingly challenging myself to do the same. ❤️

The things you avoid out of discomfort...

Are the things that will create the relationships that your heart dreams of.

It doesn't have to be all at once. Start with one thing. One conversation, One boundary. One need.

Then do one more and so on. And watch as you create what your heart already knows to be true.

I love you so very dearly.

And I hope that you know that you deserve to be loved fully and completely.

I know that it can get challenging when your past relationships have caused pain. I know that it can get challenging when your current relationships have caused pain.

And still, your heart opens because it knows that even in the challenges, there is beauty.

Let yourself be seen. Let yourself be heard. Let yourself be loved.
