Today we went to the persimmon U-Pick at Birdsong Orchards in Watsonville. Ten pounds of fuyu persimmons, rose petal jam, Golden Russet apples, and a bunch of mandarinquats made the sweat and heat worthwhile. Can't wait to play with these tomorrow.

Also, sorry to the people who came after us and didn't get to pick very many.

Because, apparently, I didn't have enough to think about this week. Unknown hives decided it wanted to be on my bingo card.

No new detergents, food, anything. But I am a human chemical detector. I get hives from using maxi pads with wings!

Or it's poison oak. Whatever it is, it's annoying.

Fun with my CSA boxes from Jeannie Girl Veggie Box and goodful 🌿 local seasonal organic sustainable for dinner tonight. Persimmon pico de Gallo over roasted salmon. Massaged kale salad with persimmons, dried cherries, and pecans. Watermelon radish carpaccio with golden beets.
