Internet - meet the Bog! Reclaiming clay is pretty nasty business but we care a lot about not wasting clay. Ella (pictured here) has nicknamed the stinky stank at the bottom of the buckets the Bog. Reclaim is a sort of love language for certain types of people, MCS staff included! 😂 We are switching to hydrogen peroxide from bleach to kill the mold that grows in the clay for increased efficacy and lower toxicity.

Try the potter’s wheel this fall at Monterey Clay Studio! 🍁

We have our Play with Clay experience where you get to come try throwing on the wheel for two hours. There’s no pressure to “be good” we recycle all the pieces at the end of class. For ages 18+. $75 per person.

NEW! Throw & Trim. A two-part workshop where you learn to throw on Saturday and learn to trim on Sunday. We glaze and fire your two best pieces which will be available for pickup a few weeks after class. Project is thrown bowls. For ages 18+. $189 per person.
